Otavio Veras is a Researcher Analyst for Natural Gas & LNG at Wood Mackenzie, in Singapore. Previously, he has worked for the NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies (CAS), at the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, where he wrote all the articles related to Africa in this blog.
He holds an MBA from INSEAD, having graduated in December 2013. INSEAD ranks among the Top 5 MBA Schools in the world for many consecutive years.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Instituto Militar de Engenharia (IME), a military school in Brazil ranked as one of the best engineering schools in Latin America. Otavio also has a post-graduation degree in Oil and Gas Offshore Systems from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
Otavio’s background in the Oil and Gas and the Mining industries totals 12 years, with roles ranging from Structural Subsea Engineer and Project Manager to Business Intelligence Analyst.
Throughout his career Otavio has worked in various locations: Brazil, US, UK, Malaysia, Norway. Currently, he is living in Singapore.
